Until 1990, this was available over the counter without a prescription. It contained paregoric and stopped the cramping and pain of IBS within 5 minutes after taking it.

They used to put a few drops of paregoric in water in a baby bottle for tummy troubles AND rub paregoric on babies' gums to ease teething pains.

@Paladin1950, I actually saw a bicyclist using hand signals several months ago. It was good to see!

My old beater in grad school had a bashed headlight/signal for several months, so I used hand signals. I'm not sure anyone knew what I was doing.
