Things you won't find anymore...

Johnson & Johnson still produces Band-Aid® brand bandages in metal tins,
but they are now limited-edition collectibles rather than the standard packaging.
While the company discontinued the standard metal tin packaging in 1994 in favor of cardboard boxes,
they have periodically reintroduced the iconic tins for special occasions,
such as the brand's 100th anniversary in 2020 and the 50th anniversary of the "Stuck on You" jingle..

Interesting. To my taste, I much preferred the metal tins.
Well, at least they didn't go to plastic.

I remember the usheres at movie theaters.
We did not have anyone walking around selling things.
You neened to go to the concession stand to get treats, popcorn and drinks.
Once in awhile we would sneek things in.
Bad me.
🍿 🍬
I too recall ushers in nice theaters in the 1950s, but they've gone the way of the Dodo bird.

I've heard that movie theaters make more money from their concession stands than from their ticket prices. That would explain why the snacks are so expensive-- like at an airport...

And we'd often sneak in a little snack in my wife's purse...

I used to have a lot of records.
I have had several stereo systems also.
But I have never seen one of those Sunkist. Rare maybe.
I would be afraid that thing would scratch my records.
It was passed down to me when my older brothers grew up.
It didn't harm the records, but I ended up with so many records they no longer fit in there!! 😁

Regarding the White-wall tires...I have wondered lately why there are NOT any
colors but black for tires now days>>??!! I mean given modern tech stuff
the mfr's should be able to make any colored tire you want??!!

I remember when you bought certain car ignition parts and they came in a cardboard box lined with tin inside. After using the part, the box made a great place to store different nuts, bolts, etc. Every gas station mechanic had at least half a dozen of these boxes.

Did you ever grab hold of a coil that leaked while someone turned on the ignition?
Quite a shock, right?

I don't even touch hubby's collection of records, he has every one he ever bought back from 1961, many in excellent condition still,
covers, posters and all.

A vet who will offer to
Does anyone remember full-service shoe stores where fluoroscopes were present? You'd stick your feet into the device, and it would X-ray them to determine if your toes had enough room inside a shoe you were considering buying. Yes folks, get a free X-ray dosage just for coming in!

What other things once commonplace won't you see today?

A vet who will offer to try to remove with forceps the five foxtails that are dug in under the skin of the dog you just rescued if you can hold him still .. and then charge you just ten bucked after a successful procedure.
