Thinking ahead....

20 years from now?

Cell phones. You will be able to have a chip implanted which will allow you to communicate with your BFF's.
Laptops, tablets, internet. There will be a cache of information, similar to today's internet, that the chips can read. If your mind asks a question, the answer will appear immediately.

Operator controls in automobiles, trucks, heavy equipment. Everything will be mobilized via "Smart" systems.

Zoos... Artificial intelligence chips will be implanted into the brains of wild animals, allowing them to walk amongst us totally harmless.

Presidential elections in the U.S.... After Donald serves 8 years, Ivanka will be installed as "Queen" and will be granted that for life. The United States is now incorrectly referred to as "America". There are other countries in North America, Central America, and South America. To eliminate the fault, a Constitutional Amendment will be decreed by Queen Ivanka whereby we will be known as the United States of Trump.

No more checks--bills will be paid digitally only. FedEx and UPS will be replaced by drones for the most part. Transportation will be using a lot of robotics, especially cars, cabs and buses. Preprogrammed destinations will get you there, public transportation will require a pin in order to charge it to an account. Money will be a thing of the past, you will be using a coded pin to do any form of business.

Medicine will change dramatically and the way we manage healthcare. On screen appointments will be common, you will key in your symptoms and there will be a way of reading body temp, weight and blood pressure. Dr will then diagnose and prescribe. Some things will require a visit and emergencies will still be seen in the ER but appts will be greatly reduced. There will be a socialized form of medicine where doctors will be paid a certain amount and it will be accepted anywhere in the US. Genetic profiles will be used to identify and prevent predisposed diseases, even cancer. Gene isolation will identify and a correction will be made to avoid or treat many of the most devastating illnesses. Super antiviral drugs will eliminate HIV, hepatitis and other infectious disease. If we can diagnose and treat many of these illnesses without a lengthy treatment, hospital stays, office visits etc. the cost of healthcare will be reduced significantly.

Well, I do not know about flying cars, but I think gas/diesel powered cars will be a thing of the past. One of our cars is a VW e-Golf, a full electric vehicle. Not a lot of range, but my husband drives it and it is good enough for his round trips to work. I am still a bit leary of it, and have only driven it a couple times...and once was just to move it out of the drive way so the guy could plow.

I can see cities adopting unmanned robotic type vehicles to plow snow, collect trash and recyclables, police neighborhoods, fight fires, etc... One employee could monitor several vehicles from a central location and send a crew if needed.

I think private ownership of cars will begin to dwindle as the little programmable bubble cars become more practical. You will be able to arrange a time call to have the little thing arrive, take you where you need to go and then it will return itself to the nearest terminal to be serviced and wait for the next call.

I also think we will soon see smartcarts in the grocery stores that will return themselves to the cart rack when you have finished with them, no more cart wranglers in the parking lot.

To me the biggest problem with the Jestsonization of the world is the loss of many basic jobs. I don't see any jobs coming up to replace the ones lost by cashiers, bank tellers, payment processors, data entry operators, taxi cab drivers, etc...
