Thinking Back to High School?

Thinking way, way back to high school, do you remember the most popular guys or gals in your school. You know, the cool kids.

Or maybe they weren’t cool; they were just bullies who lead the pack.

Have you ever found out how their life turned out?

Yes, I remember the most popular kids and I was considered one but I liked a lot of the not so popular kids that were nice and fun to be around. There were some students that got in trouble with smoking, drinking and not caring about school. Some were in trouble with the law. I am not sure how they turned out after school but I guess some did well.

Some of the students were really smart and did well after college becoming lawyers, doctors and other professionals. However, I was not one of them.

I don't remember any of the popular kids in High School. I remember a couple popular boys in elementary/Junior high, and one of them died of leukemia and the other took his death hard and when I saw him in High School he looked pretty unkempt/gross (definitely not in popular group).

I really didn't mesh with the personalities of the most popular bunch. First being the way they laughed at
others for their clothes, hair, acne, etc. I had a couple of the girls I talked to on occasion, mostly when the
newest guy broke up with them and they didn't want it known yet but had to cry.
The top surfer, won many contests and was really cute...too cute and knew it, died a year after he graduated in
a car accident.
I remember some names due to a reunion msg I got on FB. I had no idea any one remembered me.
I was pretty low keyed and shy. I was known as the "Stray Collector" most all my besties were just ordinary
and I liked the no-games mentality of those types.

I never paid much attention to who was most popular. I knew I’d never grab that ring, so it meant little to me. I just took people at face value and still do. I figured if crowns were that important, Burger King would be running the school. Besides, I was too busy just trying to be "Most Likely to Survive."

I saw that the girl that asked me to a dance but then wanted nothing to do with me afterwards (cause I was incredibly dorky!) got married and then divorced. My sister and brother-in-law knew her husband and did not think much of her. But in high school I was not too heart broken - the crowd she hung out was not for me!

I was a jock at 6’4”. I was an average basketball player, but more of a better than average baseball player. I hung with the cool crowd, who were mostly jocks, except for the girls. When we traveled to away basketball games the cheerleaders traveled on the same bus with us. The girls had to sit in the back and the team upfront. The coaches sat between the guys and the girls. We had fun.

There were only 35 of us in my High-school class and most of that number had been together since first grade so my class felt more like a large family. I was an outsider, who transferred in from an even smaller school my Sophomore year. I was elected Junior class President so I guess I was accepted pretty well.

My high school was too small, 45 in my graduating class, to have different groups/cliques. I dated and married the prettiest cheerleader, who also was head of the Honor Society. The starting backfield on the football team (I was the QB), along with one other player, were also the starting 5 on the basketball team, and we were all on the track team. At last count, 17 classmates have passed away. Some never left Southern Ohio, a few traveled the world. Some of us went to college, most didn't, but I like to think we all led the best lives we could.

We had some popular screamers, girls. Only the first 3 years when it was combined. Oh that poor guy who gave Geography. He couldn't stand em. He always turned red and then kicked em out. Later it turned out he was really chill if you didn't ruin his lesson lol. After that they went to the easier school and the class was just full with a bunch of shy interested kids who wanted to learn. Lol once the physics teacher said: PLEASE!!! SAY SOMETHING!!!! We just sat and listened lol.
No idea how they're doing. The only ones I kept in contact with were 4 other unpopular girls I always hung out with.
