Have you ever seen it? It used to be the offices of the Longaberger Company (basket makers), Newark, Ohio. The seven story building was sold about 3 years ago for $1.2 million and is now a luxury hotel. The interesting history of the company and building are in this article.

how about spending the night in an elephant? ocean view. Margate, NJ. not far from Atlantic City,
Atlantic City is my second home, literally. My husband and I bought a timeshare there and spent lots of time down there. But we never went to see Lucy. Now he's gone and I spend several weeks there (except last year) but my modes of transportation are casino buses and Ubers or Lyfts, so I will not likely get to see her. Margate and AC fuse together so if I took the tram as far as it goes on that end of the boardwalk, I could walk to Margate. Don't know how far it would take to get to the elephant from there. My husband would have loved the decor of the Lucy hotel; it's not my cup of tea.

I've seen that before.

Pretty cool.

Here's a church that looks like a giant high heel glass slipper....

I believe that basket hotel was the home of one of that swanky "basket" factory. I know a woman, who collects their baskets. They go for hundreds of dollars. I guess they're "designer" baskets or something. Supposed to be like fine wine. To me, they looked like, well, baskets..

Wow! That is wild. A tourist attraction for sure. I wonder if the very top space of the shoe is functional
@Fuzzbuddy, you are probably right. You know how when something becomes en vogue, all kinds of ridiculous price tags can be attached to those items.
@Kathleen’s Place You're welcome. If the article doesn't have pictures, I wouldn't be surprised if you can't find them via a search or on YouTube.

Hotel/motel architecture has come a long way since the Tee Pee and Wigwam motels on Route 66, US 90 (aka Old Spanish Trail), and US 11. A few of those are still in business. One in Wharton Texas, for example. Our family stayed in one in Birmingham Alabama around 1957 as I recall.
