I knew a Greek Orthodox priest (my first wife's priest) who was from Toronto. He was a great guy and his wife (presbytera Zoe) was a grand lady who could really COOK! I fell in love with her Greek cooking. (Nopester, I'm not Orthodox)
Well, hopefully they will have the Greek festival this year in SLC. Have you ever gone? We go every year, except, you know, last year ☹️

Oh, You can "private message by clicking on their picture. Click on "Start Conversation". The communication is entirely private between the two of you.
That would be a lot safer than giving out your e-mail address.
I know you don't think of yourself like that because you have probably reached enlightenment!
I hope you start new threads, sharing your knowledge with all of us!
Yes, Life is short! Live it up!
Zen Master Bankei once had a disciple that was especially insightful. So he told this disciple, "I have a great knock-knock joke for but you must begin it."
"Knock knock" said the disciple.
"Who's there?" replied Bankei.

Enlightenment. Hmm. I once searched and worked diligently to awaken. Then I learned to be in the moment and remain there. As for enlightenment within the context of traditional Advaita Vedanta, I am impressed with James Swartz, an American, who is obviously no longer asleep. His books and website are more helpful than most I have read. Ramji (James Swartz) used to have an enlightenment quiz on his Shining World website that was quite a puzzler to most folks but was very helpful to many as well as being quite fun and funny. No, I am not his disciple, but have read his books. He has an excellent paraphrase of the Gita that is likely still available to be read on his site. I tried to start a private conversation with you by clicking on your photo but I did not see a Start Conversation button. Give me a few days and I will be better at working this forum. Thank you very much Gaer and I hope to see more of you.

Yes, Someone said you must be here for a week or so before you can do the "Start conversation" I don't know!
ANYBODY KNOW?
But I wanted to tell you the highlight of my life! I was about 30, I think. I went to see a lecture by the Maharishi, who has been called the "Vedanta incarnate" Buckminster Fuller and Jonas Salk were also speaking.
The Maharishi was sitting in a chair surrounded by flowers. At least a thousand people were standing, listening.
I was right in the middle of the crowd with my two children. They couldn't see over the people but stood there quietly.
The Maharishi got up, chose three long stemmed red roses and walked off the stage and through the crowd as it parted. TO ME!
he gave a rose to me, bent down to give one to my daughter and gave one to my son. He could not see them from the stage!
I'm still astonished about this! WHY ME? out of THOUSANDS of people?
Whenever I think of this, I'm thrilled!

It’s a drive but worth it, lol, it would be hard to decide which is my favorite but the fried donuts sell like hot cakes and the grape leaf wrapped meat mixture yummy. We buy all the desserts, and eat them over a weeks time or, 😂😂😂, shorter.

Hi Gaer. That's really something! You were blest that day. Do your kids remember this? The Maharishi always seemed like a very spiritual man in the context of Advaita Vedanta and I was saddened to read of his passing in 2008. I think it was 2008. I never met the Maharishi but have read some of his books. A friend of mine from my 20th year taught me TM right after he took the course.
