Just a reminder that all pedal bikes in Ontario are legally a "Vehicle under the High Way Traffic Act , just not a Motor Vehicle " Yours does have a motor, albeit an electric one ". I suggest you stop by a Toronto Police Service divisional station, and talk to the Staff Sgt about what your e bike is in terms of the HTA . You may be surprised to learn the facts about what your new bike is legally considered to be in Ontario. JimB In Toronto.

Looks like a great ride., and the use you describe makes a lot of sense. Are you required to use a helmet since the speed is so high?

Nice bike.

I have dizziness issues so for safety, I'd have to get a 3-wheeler. I would not feel stupid on that in my area because it's a very laid-back kind of place with lots of quiet streets. The 3-wheel electrics are quite expensive. I would just get a person-powered one. But I won't be getting one any time soon. Have other priorities.

In my regions there are so many Serious Cyclists and Serious Runners. They are even politically active about bike lanes. They have more power than even the homeless, and the homeless outnumber them by quite a lot!

IDK. I wish they'd take all their Serious Political Power and apply it to affordable housing. Then people wouldn't have to drive 30 miles to work - they could live close to their jobs, and more of them could bike to work if they chose to.

You cannot be serious! Actually, my baggy trousers just wouldn't look the part on that electric bike. Besides, what would my surgeon say? Following my hip replacement he recommended cycling and swimming to improve the new hip. Both those forms of exercise are good because they create what the surgeon described as, rotation. My 1920's lady's bike is just perfect, no crossbar negates the need to lift my leg high.

One of our older neighbors we see out walking his old dog told us that when his old dog dies he’s not going to get another. Well, she didn’t last too much longer. Couple weeks later we saw him zipping around neighborhood on his electric bike with a big smile on his face. So glad he could adapt over loosing his dog.

England is doing just that. They are building homes where everything needed is within the town. They are creating self sufficient communities and most folk are supporting the idea.
