The time had come to cut my watermelon and cantaloupe. I never grew watermelons before so this was exciting.
I couldn't have been more proud. Almost as much as giving birth to my human babies although I didn't tell my daughter I was comparing her to a watermelon. That wouldn't have been appreciated.
There are more to come, along with peppers and potatoes that I will harvest in the fall.

Looks so delish, Ruth!

Speaking of cantaloupe, if ever you over-eat and are suffering with a tummy-ache after, a slice or two of cantaloupe will settle it down immediately.

Hi Ruth in Jersey.... Love the watermelon and Cantaloupe. We have a problem with soil down the shore.... It's very sandy soil here..
When we moved here 45 years ago we did try planting....Then my husband decided to put a pool on the property....
We did have apple tree's...….
