This morning’s breakfast.

Our upstate New York friends who are visiting for the w/e were nice enough to be my test subjects while I tried out this new breakfast recipe. They’re called German pancakes, (I have no idea why) or according to Google they might also be called Dutch baby pancake, a Bismarck, a Dutch puff, or a Hootenanny. The vote was a resounding thumbs up!! They really were delicious!

They taste sort of like a popover. I served it with fruit on the side and made some sweetened strawberries and warm Vermont maple syrup.

Leave out the sugar and serve it with sausage gravy.

I used to make Yorkshire puddings for the family occasionally and daughter would refer to them as “dinner rolls with dimples”
