Under "current visitors" you can separate the bots from real guests because they both have a tab. It also shows the threads the guests are looking at.

Bots can also be from various search engines, which pick up pages from websites — that's how they grab them to list them in their search engines. That's not the only thing bots are used for, but that's one important use.
I was trying to show a link from one of our websites' logs which showed that Google's bot (Googlebot) had picked up one of our pages ... unfortunately, the forum software kept translating it so that you can't see the log text. So, here's a picture of it:

Not all members log in for looking after new comments. Then there are a lot of bots. Even the Russian search engine Yandex (see screenshot).

I agree Marie. I think the bots are just gathering info, they seem to be on all forums, likely from google or some advertising, not sure.
Also, some people just search for a topic, health condition or other info and are led to different boards to read the posts, I know it's happened to me. They usually don't stay long once they read what they were interested in.
I believe @Matrix would welcome all new members here.

There exist many Senior related forums online for people to pick and chose
from. Also, it is not uncommon for people to be a member of several forums.
Bashing of other sites though, I don't think is welcome here, unless I have missed
something. I am a member of several Senior sites, and including the one mentioned
that is closing end of next month. My times there have been enjoyable and the great
friends included that I will still stay in touch with..

it's arguably the biggest British Forum... much bigger than this... it has Canadian , and American members too, but predominately British, and yes there are quite a few on there who are quite obnoxious..

are many other Senior Sites they are already situating in.

I'm not worried... I'm a member of Buzz50 myself, altho' I haven't posted for a few months but I've been a member for about 12 years ...I just don't want this Forum to be affected adversely by a huge influx...especially of the negative types , many of them have already been banned from other British forums

Yes, I checked a few senior orientated forums, and one or two of varried ages. There was another forum I belonged to before here, but I think it is closed down, as I cannot find it any more. Not that I would go back, You all are stuck with me here.
