Those little coincidences that pop up.......

This evening after dinner, I was working on a crossword puzzle and I came across the word "algid". Now, I think I have a good vocabulary but I had never heard (or least think I've never heard) that word before. I had to look it up. It means "cold". OK, I have a new word. It's pretty algid outside tonight, at least by Florida standards....

A few minutes ago, I pick up a book I checked out of the library today and on page 13, there's the word "algid" used. Hey, I KNOW THAT WORD!!! Whoopee for me!

OK, I take my small pleasures wherever I can get them, y'know?

Imo, once you hear a new word, you’ll hear it again very soon. So help me, I don’t want to hear that the weather is going to be ‘that new word you just wrote about’. My spellcheck refuses to type it no matter how many times I tried.

Well then, learned algid doesn’t mean allergic to algebra. Shoot.
That’s just cold, leaving me with a quadratic equation in one hand and disappointment in the other.
So … what’s the word for allergic to algebra anyway? Maybe mathorrhea? Asking for a friend …
