Thousands of Service Members Refusing Vaccine

The bulk of the military consists of younger people....who always seem to think that they are "indestructible". Personally, I would hate to be living in a barracks full of "bar hoppers" during this epidemic.

Funny, the only "Bar Hoppers" I know are older people.

Not getting a required shot was never an option during my 31 years of active service.
That was my experience, though I didn't stay in past my first enlistment. I can't imagine anybody in the military refusing a direct order without expecting at least an Article 15, which is what getting shots was for us. Maybe the military has changed that much since I was in (?).

According to the article:
"The Food and Drug Administration has allowed emergency use of the vaccine, so it's voluntary. But Defense Department officials say they hope that soon may change.

“We cannot make it mandatory yet,” Vice Adm. Andrew Lewis, commander of the Navy’s 2nd Fleet, said last week. “I can tell you we’re probably going to make it mandatory as soon as we can, just like we do with the flu vaccine."
