Thought I would start this thread for our folks in California to check in to let us know they are OK and safe. You do not need to say more than we are OK

Thank you Marie, I'm worried about them, too. I heard someone on NPR say that this fire is worse than most California fires in several ways. for one they're running out of water. People are really afraid.

My sister in law and my niece (and her husband) live in a suburb of LA. Called, waiting to hear back from them

Heard from my sister in law near LA> they are having controled power outages....and such. Her son in law got a generator but have not needed to use it yet.

We haven’t seen her since Saturday. She can go to other family and she also has an RV so may have chosen to get out of the area. It’s overwhelming being displaced.

My family and I - and our homes - are all ok. We had some scary moments, including a brief mandatory evac order due to a pop-up fire quite nearby.

I thank you deeply for caring. The ridiculous finger-pointing, wild speculation, and disinformation on SF put me off from posting, to tell you the truth.
