I agree..I have no addictions...unless you call chocolate an addiction.......but I've never taken illicit drugs... nor do I smoke anything at all..including tobacco.. nor do I drink alcohol.... and people who put my life at risk because they are selfish enough to use drugs , and or alcohol and drive.. are just despicable people...

Oh, yeah. I have stopped more than my share of kids getting smoked before school. What’s sad is that most of the parents didn’t care. When I take the kid or kids back to the barracks and call their parents to come and get their kid, some would tell me to let him/her walk home, or they were at work and couldn’t leave, but they would try to pick up their kid at lunch and a whole bunch of other stupid excuses. It use to pi$$ me off. It’s your child for God sakes. Come and get him/her. We aren’t your babysitter.

Depending on how much MJ they had in their possession determined the extent of the charge. I probably only had 5 felony arrests. The others were usually arrested as an ungraded misdemeanor and I would issue the kid a summons to appear before a District Magistrate. The PSP did not honor area decriminalization laws. We only honored state laws. All of these kids were processed by fingerprinting and taking their picture.

Almost everyday I go out, I pass a medical MJ dispensary and the line of traffic waiting to pick up their stash is very long. Sometimes the line goes twice around the building. It sure is a different world from when I was a kid. Smoking MJ and vaping does harm the lungs. Too often people don’t learn this until it’s too late. Too each his own.

A person my age coming from an ophthalmologist on a sunny day after having my eyes dilated or a person after being sedated at a dental appointment and sadly all too often it’s just a decent guy that had one too many at a birthday party.

I’ve been guilty of driving under the influence, thankfully no one was hurt and it didn’t ruin my life but it certainly could have.

I think the point of that article/addict is that addicts are just as big a menace on the roads and in the workplace as alcoholics are. Which reflect my experience with some addicts.

I remember when they used to give a script for things like codeine after a painful procedure dental and other medical with no verbal warnings

Now if they do give painkillers you get all sorts of warnings read and explained to you. The warning used to be nothing but a sticker or phamplet that came with a script. Wonder if a doctor or pharmacist bothers to do that with Woods every time he gets a script filled.

I'm not talking about kids tho'...I was talking about the parents being stopped on the school run in the mornings, and being found drunk or drugged...at 8am FGS... disgraceful....and yet there's no shame !

I have watched the US cops like yourself... stop cars and by the time they've actually walked to the drivers window, the driver is so drunk or drugged they've slipped into a Comatose state! People like this should have their licence taken from them for life !

I mean it's terrible that anyone drives while impaired but to be drinking or having taken drugs and driving first thing in the morning with or without kids in the car... when the roads are trafitionally packed with commuters.. is just criminal at the highest level IMO.. ....

I feel that the punishment for Drink or drug driving is way too leneient....
 
This is really sad. The guy was on course to be the greatest golfer who ever lived. He has self-destructed on multiple occasions. He needs a chauffeur, a shrink, a month or so in rehab, and a reason to get up in the morning, among other things.

For what it's worth, Tiger usually comes in at or near the top of the list for the "biggest jerk in golf" stories in the golf magazines, although there is a fair amount of competition.

Th punishment for DUI’s here in PA are fairly severe.
 
Yes, it's big new down here in Florida. Tiger is a troubled man, still trying to prove to the world he is a good golfer. He needs to direct his attention on getting some help to get better & less time on the golf course

Sadly, we do not know what is going on sometimes with a person. Prescribed drugs for chronic pain are a huge problem known several back surgery folks who have real problems with that creating an addiction.

My co-worker told me, His now ex... is an alcoholic. He did not see it until she had some sort of anxiety or panic attack she thought was heart attack... he came home from work at 9am to take her to emergency room. When asked if she had drank today she told nurse she had drank 2 bottles of wine that morning... had driven their kids to school that day also.

Being aware I am always cautious around any odd driving behavior ... too slow trying hard to concentrate... too fast thinking they are invincible..... sudden jerky moments or lane changes etc.
I actually pulled in a parking lot to avoid an erratic driver. I waited several minutes started again and saw the accident I avoided by being "too cautious" as my family had claimed I was.

This is true, we don’t know the full story. However, the responsibility still is on the driver to be able to safely navigate without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If there are known reactions to a prescribed drug, - stay at home or get someone else to do the driving. And why do you need to drive aggressively?

yes I don't doubt that. Not seen that yet on the school run ... but definitely far too many parents who are found to be completely wasted at 8 in the morning having just dropped their kids off...

In what appears to be an unexpected boost for the golf legend and his Sun Day Red clothing brand, he will now profit from the disastrous circumstances surrounding his arrest on Jupiter Island on Friday afternoon.

Woods, 50, was arrested for DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test after clipping the back of a trailer at high speed and flipping his own Range Rover SUV onto its side.


Somehow unhurt, the 15-time major champion was able to clamber out of the passenger side window, where he was then arrested and jailed, with a now-infamous mugshot released to the public.

In the image, a bleary-eyed Woods stares down the lens while wearing full golf attire, including a blue polo shirt from his own Sun Day Red range.

In the days after the image was released to the public, fans of the golf icon flocked to the website and snapped up every available size of the polo, to the point that it is now completely sold out on the site.

Woods is yet to release any kind of public statement more than 48 hours on from his arrest in Florida on Friday afternoon.

He spent eight hours behind bars in the wake of his high-speed crash and DUI charge, before returning home for brutal crunch talks with his girlfriend Vanessa Trump.
