Hello People

My names Tim, I'm 66 years young ;) and have been living in the northeast of Thailand for 8 years. As you probably know Thailand is known as the land of smiles :) and in all my time here, I have certainly had a huge smile on my face :)

Having lived in five different countries over the last 25 years, including 6 years in another favourite country for the brits (Spain), I can honestly say, Thailand has given me the best life. And you will be amazed at how little it costs to live here ;)

In a nutshell, even the standard UK state pension of circa £880 a month, is easilly enough to live a comfortable and fun filled life. more than that and the country is indeed, 'your oyster'.

I've joined this forum to help and advise anyone who, has dreamed of a Sun and Fun filled retirement :)

Welcome to the Forum!!!

Coincidently, I saw a Samantha Brown travel segment on Thailand the other day. She too talked about "the land of smiles" and how nice it was.

ENJOY !!!

Thailand is a beautiful country, and the people are quite nice. I spent 1967 stationed at Takhli AFB....about 50 miles North of Bangkok, and visited many of the Buddhist temples, etc. It was an interesting year.
