Time Spent on Forum Activity

Oh my, I looked at Jim's avator and forgot what I was going to say. I like it that you usually use photos of yourself on here but I'm pretty sure that isn't one of them. :)

The time I spend online each day depends. Some days I am not even home or I'm in and out of here and very busy. I usually check the banks (because I am a paranoid crazy person I guess, afraid someone will steal my $5.) first each morning. Then I look on my email to see if any of my family has emailed, then I check Facebook to see if my kids or grand kids or other friends and relatives have posted any news or photos. Then while on FB I check some of my groups to see if there is any big news here in the mountains I need to know about or any new jokes on a humor group I'm in. I have a rule I have to laugh out loud some each day so that's why I'm on that group. Then I look over here on SF to read and am often typing a post with my husband behind me saying "We have to go, you can do that when we get back." :)

Employment "Perk"?

Usually about 20 minutes when I first wake up and have my coffee... then on and off during the day..

Hey, are things that slow in the ER? Easy, now, QS, I'm only "baiting" you and I know Chicagoans can take IT! (Solicit) Do you drink that coffee with creamer?

BTW, have you ever had any experience with Cook County Hospital? Place is near (not dear) to my heart! imp

Depends on what I have to do, Shopping, Doctors appointments ,going to Adelaide but I check in most mornings for an hour or so ....I enjoy the games.. I always check in at night, ( if I'm not out dancing ) and it depends on if there's much going on how long I stay. I must say i personally find .. SF much more stimulating on the ole grey matter than watching some of the programs we have to select from on TV at night.

I agree about TV. Sometimes there's something on I want to see but not often enough. :)

Hi Linda
Some of the programs on offer are not even worth the cost of power to watch IMO :laugh: I often say to hubby think ill loose brain cells watching that

No idea. I'm off and on. Go back and forth between SF and FB and other sites. Use my phone when on the bus/train/passenger in car to access. Sit with lap top at night when watching tv. If I'm involved in big discussion/debate, I check on that.

On now as I'm sitting up in bed having breakfast.

Hahahahahaha.... No Imp.... I'm the boss and I don't do any patient care.. I ride a desk now.. Haven't touched a patient in fifteen years.

NO.. other than seeing it as I ride down the Eisenhower I have no experience with CCH... Now it's called Stroger Hospital..

I would think probably about two hours per day in one go and then a half hour here and then there....and then again and a few minutes and.....well, I think you get the point as in too much

Actually, as I was washing dishes I thought about it and I think it's more accurate to say at least four hours a day, plus, plus, plus. My yard doesn't take much work now, we have no kids so my house is tidy all the time, and the time I spend includes not only this forum, but lots of news sites, Facebook to see what the kids are up to and then this forum. So lots of time, but so what right? Books make me fall asleep within minutes it seems and if I want to read, for some reason I am not affected the same way. So yes, my computer is at least, a very good 'friend'.

I don't spend much time on forums in and out if I was on the computer for hours I wouldn't get anything done at all, I just browse quickly and see if there anything I can learn or grabs my interest.

I spend more time on my computer, but only pop into the forum now and then, here and there and sometimes not at all, depends if there's anything of interest to me or if I'm in the mood.

My wife's brother, then 16, was confined to then Cook County Hospital for 4 months, suffering from ulcerative colitis, which nearly killed him. We went to visit him nearly every day. Sometimes he could be found walking about the hallway, dragging his IV on wheels; he was allowed little food, and given lots of liquids intravenously. Once, lacking the IV, he took us down in a service elevator he had discovered, to a sub-basement area in the bowels of the building, leading the way through a long tunnel-like passageway which ended at another elevator. He explained that we had passed under the street and were now directly underneath Cook County Morgue!

I marveled at how much freedom the kid had been allowed, and his"gutsiness" given the degree of illness. He recovered to lead a fairly active life for 9 years, then, on his 25th. birthday, died during a recurrence of the illness. I wish I could see him today; he would be one year older than my wife, 64 (2nd. wife). imp

Before and after a quick shopping trip it is time with the news and you in the morning but the rest of the day it is playing chess in my quest to die an above average chess player. iPad all the way all day...
