November 5th we will be changing clocks back an hour.
Didn't we think this was over? ... Will it ever change?

Will we "fall back" in 2023?

Yes. Americans in most states will have to turn their clocks back an hour on Sunday, Nov. 5, when standard time resumes. It will last until the second Sunday of March 2024, when daylight saving time starts again.

While daylight saving time shifts an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening in late winter, spring, summer and early fall, that hour of daylight goes back to the morning during standard time, when the days are shorter in fall and winter.

Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida who introduced the Sunshine Protection Act in the Senate and a similar version of the bill last year, has emphasized that less daylight in the evening can mean fewer after-school activities for kids.

When does the time change for daylight saving time 2023? What to know before clocks "fall back"

When I was in high school, there was a gas shortage/crisis. So they didn't fall back and I went to school in the dark. That was freaky. There was an electric trolley on my street I had to get on. During winter, ice would form on the power cables overhead and the trolley would cause a huge spark, lighting up the whole street. I much preferred to have the morning light back.

I'm so sick of this time change crap........
You said it, Hawky. I hate it!

It's a PITA and screws me up. I don't have to "fall back". When it changes to DST, I just run an hour behind until it changes back again. 🥴 I wish they'd settle on one time, period. 😖

Changing the clock is about the same as cutting the foot off the top of a blanket and sewing it onto the bottom and claiming you have a longer blanket as a result.

When I was a teenager, one year Indiana decided it wasn't going to make the change. BUT, the Feds said that anything that dealt with interstate commerce had to operate under "Federal" time, which was the changed time. It was a disaster.

Say you'd want to go by bus from Indianapolis, Indiana to Fort Wayne, Indiana. The bus left at 9 a.m. "State" time, since the travel was between two Indiana cities. BUT, if the bus went from Indianapolis to Cincinnati, Ohio, it would leave at 9 a.m. "Federal" time, which was 10 a.m. "State" time, the time everyone else was operating on. When you called to get the bus schedule, you had to make sure you knew which "time" the bus was operating on.

The airport, on the other hand, was federally mandated to operate on "Federal" time for all flights, even intra-state flights.

There are only two states that don't observe daylight savings time: Hawaii and Arizona (except for the Navaho Nation, which does). Most of the territories don't, either.

I do wish they'd just get over it and leave the time the same. Either that, or send someone to my house to change all the clocks.....especially the one in the car.

Right now I have to get up around 5:30 AM, because my dog demands his morning walk then ..... can hardly wait to start walking at 4:30! <sarcasm>

Those politicians must not have dogs to walk!!😁

:D Dogs are like that. They get into a routine, and they could not care less about how you're feeling, the weather, or the stupid hour. My dog does this every night. I'd prefer a more random walking time. So for example, if I'm really into some music, I'd rather wait for it to be done before taking my dog out. But he agitates. Stands in front of me, staring. Quite whines. Then he'll walk away, returning immediately to start the staring again.

The dog controls me........

I don't like changing all the clocks twice a year for no reason.
If we didn't spring ahead we would not have to fall back.
I'd like to stay on standard time, problem solved,
