Time to Move On

Come on Laurie, stick around. I get what you mean about current events, but Brexit is also a political event IMHO. In any case, no reason to leave.... stay here.

Laurie, your thread was locked because the topic was leading into political debate and would have created hard feelings and arguing among those who responded, politics have been banned here for that reason. Your second thread was removed because it was just a continuation of the first one. Moderation is needed and actions taken in any thread are at the discretion of the moderators.

If you decide to leave because of this, I wish you well.
I agree and support the excellent moderation we have here in SF. It's a friendly site here.

You won't find a better forum to hang your hat in than this one, Laurie....Stick around!

Just accept the fact that this particular site doesn't encourage political debate, they prefer everything kept light.

I have, in fact that's why I like it.

However, I regard the EU as "Current events and social issues" not politics.

The mods don't agree.

Laurie,go ck out the 'political/current events' forum on the AARP website. Many of the regular posters there are mean spirited, down right nasty to each other. When I was a member there, once in awhile, I would respond to whatever the topic in a civil way, some of the responses I got were terrible. The moderators really didn't do anything about it.Thank God I'm no longer there,SF is the best place ever Sue

Ah, so the B word has reared its ugly head.

At no time did I mention Brexit, nor would I (I did make some minor contributions to earlier threads ).

Like tens of millions of my fellow Europeans, we are heartily sick of Brexit, and just pray to God that the politicians would do the job they are paid for and get on with it.

Brexit is pure naked power politics, and I want no part of it. As has been said, I can find half a hundred other forums dedicated to nothing else.

It's just a pity some are unable to separate it from the EU itself, which is a simple world trading bloc.

Sorry for the confusion, Laurie. I "assumed" the prior threads were pertaining to Brexit. As the kids say, "my bad." :D
