Time to Start Wrapping Gifts

I started shopping months ago. I will start wrapping tonight. Fortunately I have a box of paper and sticky tags set aside from last year. No presents under the tree, the dogs chew and the cats pee. But everything will still be boxed and wrapped eventually. How about you???

No presents to buy, none to wrap. Thank goodness.

I've got lots to wrap already and will get started on that this week. When they start selling Xmas trees everywhere you know the time is drawing close. Gift cards can come later. They're so easy and there are so many to choose from. My family loves them and I do too. That's a lucky break but there are gifts to wrap for under the tree etc. etc.

I admire anyone who can wrap presents neatly. When they were passing out present-wrapping and bow-tying genes, I apparently was behind the door licking tonsils with a cherub. I was extremely happy when fancy bags became popular. My presents usually look like a hungry wolverine has been at them.

The only gifts I have wrapped were the 2 that had to be mailed. When we get the Xmas stuff out the tree up then I will wrap the very few gifts. I say few because mostly we are giving subscriptions and prepaid credit cards. The problem is that because we are older we have everything we actually want, if we need something we simply buy it. Our son is middle aged and single and he too has very few needs, hence the subscriptions he will enjoy as a coin collector, and some movies . Under the tree is going to look rather bare but hopefully the gifts will be welcome.

I placed an order the other day and the US mail delivered it today! Not wrapping stuff yet--I just got started. I told my son and family if they don't give me some ideas, they're all getting socks and underware. They said "great". I don't know what they do with socks at that house--they always seem to need them. There's got to be a huge pile hiding somewhere.

I tossed my stash of wrapping paper, bows, etc... last Christmas as part of my ongoing decluttering initiative. I was pleased that the whole shebang was swooped up within a couple hours of putting it in the basement of my building, better to have it used than just taking up space. The few actual packages that I give each year are put into gift bags from the dollar store.

I love Dollar Store gift bags. Perfect for a goodie bag or just organizing for different families. Thank you, you just reminded me I have to get there for the local shelter. I started a tradition of gifting the shelter we got Callie from. I get an immense gift bag and toss in thrift store towels and blankets, dog and cat toys n' assorted treats. Make things a bit happier for critters in need.

I started wrapping last month. I try to wrap as I get the gifts. I love those gift bags. I probably use more of them than I do paper these days. Gifts that have to travel by car, I don't put bows on,they get squished anyway. Just a neat bow out of the ribbon.

I'm into the gift bags and that paper you stuff in them, too. I already got a bunch of really nice bags from an outlet store. They are better than the ones they had at the dollar store because the yarn is already tied inside of them and there's no risk of the bag dropping.
