Time watching TV.

I'd guess at most 4 hours actually sitting in front of it watching, but the TV is playing most of the time in another room, always Cable news channels. I walk past occasionally and check if anything new or interesting is happening.

It really depends what's on, some days it may be 3 hours others I don't even switch the TV on

I actually WATCH 2-3 hours a day, depending on the day. Mostly it is on while I am on the computer, or doing things around the house. Lately I have it off more, because I am starting to read more.

I'm like Nancy, the TV is on most of the time and I actually watch it about 4 hours per day.

I remember when I was a kid the television was turned on to catch the news at six and then for an hour or so to watch a program like Walt Disney Presents or Bonanza. It was never on for more than an hour or so at a time and it was turned off immediately it someone stopped by for a visit.

This is what I do, too -- have it on for sort of background. The only times I pay much attention to it are when I am doing some mind-numbing task like folding clothes or walking on my treadmill, etc.

When I was a kid, TV wasn't broadcasting during the day, and it was only on when there was something we wanted to watch. It was always turned off at suppertime, no matter how much begging took place.

My TV is on almost all the time, but usually it is muted. I only turn the sound on for the news and on Tuesday night I watch "NCIS" and on Wednesday night I watch "Criminal Minds". Nothing else interests me.

We record every thing on the DVR to watch at a later time.

For sure I watch 2 hours.
After dinner my wife and I watch 2 shows we recorded.

I may watch during the day a news show, or documentary I recorded but usually in 20/30 minute increments.
I'm not one to just sit there and watch TV.

My wife on the other hand has the TV on all day, ALL DAY.
I would guess she actively watches TV 7 to 9 hours a day on days we stay home.

This isn't every day since we're out and about a lot.
But when we're home she's glued to the TV.

The tv is on here in the daytime with me mostly listening to it while I work. However hubby is glued to Fox News all day long. Runs me nuts. We watch separate tv's of the evening as we don't watch the same shows.
