Time Zones - to disclose or not to?

Do you ever wonder about these; and/or do they amuse you or puzzle you or irritate? - there they are and we cannot change them - but I must admit as I am typing away and posting either new topics or answering existing ones i never think about the time zones - and most of the time no one seems to mention them. I suppose it might be cool if we all stated our current date and time in our first post but I'm not missing it at all - doesn't seem to make any difference to the discussions?

l think l would let the poster decide if the time of day they're posting makes any difference to what they're posting about but most of the time they won't think of it.

I did try posting my time zones about a year ago but got no response?

..but the time that we post is on the top of every post we make.... you just have to compare it to your time...

I always post the time here on the How was your day thread.. because I'm talking about what I've done during the day so people who are just getting up in the USA and Canada, are reading that I've already been busy for half a day, so to keep it in perspective I always post the time..

You're up early this morning Holly! It's a white winter night here so I stayed up late. Near zero F.
I think what Olivia means is here at the top it says how many minutes ago we posted. It doesn't show
the actual time of the post for some time passes. Joey posted yesterday.
You are about 6 hours difference of me CST.

Holly there is a terrible Huge storm in the north Atlantic tonight heading up to Nova Scotia, now off Boston about 750 miles east.
Packing 80 + MPH winds near the center. Very high waves in the Atlantic tonight. Hope it calms down up north a bit but it seems bad.
People out there are in big trouble is my thoughts. Hope you'se don't get its effects.

I've been up since the ungodly hour of 1:30am. It is now 2:16am. Too alert mentally, well maybe not that alert, but exhausted physically. EST

Oh wow...... we are actually experience high winds today .. but nothing as serious as that.. Hopefully no humans will be injured..

9:30 pm, but I woke up for the bathroom at 12:30am for a spell, so got about 3.5 hrs sleep. Guess I took a nap instead of a night's sleep. Maybe I can still go back to sleep. Say something boring! :ROFLMAO:
see this is how my sleep pattern goes as well. if I fall asleep at all in the day time..even if it's only for 30 minutes I'm going to be up until at least 3am...

last night I was in bed by 11.30am.. but despite having not had any nap in the day, I was still awake at 4.30am.. got up at 5...

For me, holly, when I get up like this I find it hard to go back to sleep because I think each moment in my life has become So Precious that I must stay awake.

I had a nap yesterday and totally screwed up my sleep.

While this forum does disclose the times, they aren’t always accurate. Twice I’ve had time zones show up that’s said tomorrow’s time.

I’m at 3:45 EST

if you actually sat back and thought about that you would realise this is not helping you at all, because while you're doing without precious sleep you're casuing yourself health issues..

Almost all of my working life it was time to get up, time to go to work, time to go to lunch. Time to do your taxes, time to pay the bills. And now with Cindy gone, my band is now a distant memory, all of my kids are out on their own except one, I'm 69 years old, a cancer survivor and in chronic pain more than half the time. I am quite happy to not know what day it is without looking it up, and I don't give much thought to any of that anymore.

Except Coffee time, which is good just about any time. :coffee:

I know. I've been wandering around from room to room, trying to sleep on various surfaces.
🐈‍⬛ 🐈are thrilled to see me, they're just going nuts. "What's She Doing Up?"

That must be really annoying hawkdon. Raccoons can be a real pan in the ass. Hopefully once the professionals leave you’ll be able to get some proper sleep.
