Last week I got news from my sister Lucy that a few were visiting us for a few days. Oh boy, I finally get to see them and of course my little nieces.

I took my first fall this past Friday. I tripped over a curb. 🥴 and landed on the grass. I bounced a couple of times and flew like Wonder Woman. Foot has beenly less painful.

My sister wanted to cancel their plans to come visit us. I insisted that they visit. I promised I wouldn'd cook, etc.

Family finally made it it and it so good to be with them. The nieces are a riot and talk constantly. They met the neighbor's dog and became friends instantly. They love him. Who wouldn't?!?

I'm so glad that the injury was not that bad. I'll try to post a pic of the girls and the pup. I lied and did cook / baked.

One of the most common causes of falls in older people is failure to pick feet up enough. I know I drag my feet when I'm not actively thinking about it and it has caused several falls. I'm trying to pay more attention to where my feet are. Unfortunately, I have bad neuropathy in the feet and don't have a lot of feeling in them (but they still hurt terribly.....does that make sense?)

Sorry for your fall, but glad it's not too serious. I have been "falling" since toddlerhood. I've always been a clod! Fortunately - thanks to TaeKwondo - I have learned how to fall with the least potential for dammage. My klutziness is not just limited to falls; I am forever running into things - my forearms are a mass of sma;ll white scars collected oner 80+ years. LOL I did break a heel (s messed up flying side kick). a broken wrist (a fellow skater ran into me and sent me flying across the link floor into the wall hand first) and last but not least a broken metatarsal (foot) from a sharp turn in Irish Dance . Those were all after age 60 - was lucky before - or more agile LOL

Oh, Pamela! I'm glad you didn't break anything!🤗 Thank goodness you're a shorty and didn't have that far to fall and that you landed on grass instead of concrete. Try to stay on your feet, old girl! Sheesh. ;)

Glad you had fun with your family. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your little cutie pie's. :)

Apparently I hit the curb with the foot and just bounced. Up and up and away....
Sounds like we are in the same boat Pam. You with your foot, me with my wrist.
My daughter and her 3 kids are coming next week. I told her I broke it today and explained how I would not be able to pick up the baby or change his diapers. She jokingly said, " Mom, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of my children"
Usually, when they come, my other daughter and son and family come here one day for a gathering. My son offered to have us all at his house so that will be a relief!
Glad you had fun with your family down in there in Texas. My brother lives near Dallas.

I have to brag a little. I must say that I cooked the best food for the family. Pinto beans and Spanish rice were awesome. Included was a simploe cherry tomato and cucumber salad with seasoning. We bought already (famous) Delia's chicken tamales and I made a huge batch of Watergate salad. The other days we ate out. Hubby went nuts having snacks for the girls.
