Tip On Buying Salmon

If your salmon has white lines in it that means it is farm raised. Those white lines are fat and farm raised fish don't swim lengths as natural water fish do. Many shady fish stores are calling one fish by another name.

Interesting fmdog44. I have noticed those white lines on cheaper selections of salmon and wondered about that.

Wild Caught Salmon from Alaska is BEST, but I read that another one that's healthy is Freshwater Coho Salmon that is U.S. farmed in tank systems (not pens I read but tanks and pens sound similar to me). Anyway, don't buy salmon farmed in pens.

Also, don't buy BlueFin Tuna, Orange Roughy, or Mahi-mahi (from Costa Rica, Guatamala, nor Peru). Don't buy Halibut from the Atlantic...Pacific is okay.

Another icky point about farm raised fish is you have thousands of them "swimming" or moving side by side like sardines in water that is full of their waste.

This one big reason I never eat fish oil capsules.......think bout it;)
