i saw this on another site and too good not to share:Making our own headlines.jpg

Also heard about a email news service 1440.com that sends a digest of top news in a 'just the facts' type way--no headlines that try to tell us how to feel about it. i've subscribed to their free digest but just on first day. (They send of daily early in the morning.) So far seems to truly be more like the wire services which provide news to various media outlets. Will let y'all know if is legit that way day after day. If it is i may check out how much to subscribe to their premium service, and what that would include the free digest doesn't.

Only way to put an end to them is to stop paying attention. If the headline sells they will keep doing it.

And maybe 1440.com is a solution. Let us know how it goes, I would be happy to pay something, if the content was truly unbiased, up to date, and relatively complete. A big ask I know.

A teen ate leftover rice and noodles. Hours later, doctors amputated his legs and fingers

USA Today one of the bets examples of overblown and sensational headlines read this article ..
they IGNORED the fact the kid came down with meningitis and ASSUME it was improperly stored leftovers and ... wait for it ....

Yep a reminder for a VACCINE ..... simply not enough information in article to warrant this narrative......
would give them benefit of doubt if they had not pulled..... the roommate also ate but was ... fully vaccinated for meningitis bacteria

For "Sensational Headlines," nothing beats those "Hundreds of Covid victims' bodies stored in refrigerated meat trucks in hospital parking lots due to a lack of room in morgues." 😁

Ya know, some people actually bought it.

In the Spring of 2020, as Covid was just becoming a major problem, with No real means of treating it, NYC had to store a bunch of bodies in refrigerated trucks until the morgues, funeral homes, etc., could find space for them.

"The long-term temporary morgue at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal holding 750 bodies -- not all victims of Covid-19 -- is a reminder of the crush of coronavirus fatalities that overwhelmed city hospitals, mortuaries and funeral homes last spring."

Of course, they're hoping we don't notice that little admission. They're not saying how many stored bodies were victims of Covid 19.
Could be one; could be none.
And anyone can show a line of trucks. Any kind of trucks, with anything in them. Or nothing in them. They know we have no way of knowing, much like the reported "Cases" & "Death Rates."
They can fool some of the people some of the time..........

It is not that the headlines that are sensational. It is the people who read these headlines and soak everything in like a sponge.
Until people learn to be more discerning, until they learn to think for themselves, then they will always be sucked into the abyss of misinformation.

I see you met my husband....

I live in Canada. Right now I am sick and tired of all the propaganda that comes from our Winnipeg Free Press and our CBC, national radio. It seems that they are forever, repeating what is the official government view on things. People who have different views are brow-beaten as being crazy or politically incorrect. I enjoy listening to different view points on different topics. Why are we all following some sort of politically correct line. Reminds me of communism propaganda. Glad I wouldn't be around much longer.
