Tired today- but happy

Good morning to all- I am tired and woozy today. I just got back last night from an overnight fishing trip out in the Gulf. I can't fish hard for two days running and not feel it as I used to. Also, after I've been aboard for awhile- especially if the seas are rough as they were this past weekend, I am very woozy when I get back on land. Not terrible, just a bit of disorientation. The opposite of seasickness, I suppose.
I did catch some very large red snapper- out of season, of course, and some grouper- we didn't find the tuna which was the target- but that's fishing. We did get to see some storms at seas- very much more interesting than storms on land, lots of porpoises, sharks, and other stuff. I do so very much like extended fishing trips on the big water.
And now we're making plans for a trip to Louisiana for photos and information for a book I'm working on. I do love being retired and being able to plan fishing trips and not having to plan for the next year's teacher assignment.
good day to all- Ed

Sounds like a good trip and it's a 'good' tired because you were doing what you enjoy.

I love the freedom of retirement and being able to be impulsive.

Phoenix- I wish that were possible- but the powers that be have determined that the red snapper population in the gulf is endangered, so the keep-season for them is closed now. This doesn't make any sense, because there are more and bigger red snapper in the Gulf now than ever before, but it would not be wise to be caught with out of season red snapper at this time- would be very expensive, and wouldn't even get to keep the fish.
But keep us in mind for next year...
good evening to all- Ed

Glad you enjoyed your fishing trip. I went to a restaurant many years ago and red snapper was on the menu. I just couldn't decide if I should order it or not. I thought they were serving snapping turtle. I decided I would give it a try. I was surprised to be served a piece of fish . Then I realized it was fish and not turtle. Thank goodness I didn't say that to the waiter. I did find the fish delicious.

Retirement is great, isn't it? Being tired is only temporary because now you can rest and not have to get up early! My bro was just out (off NC) and they caught tuna.
