To Anyone Having Christmas By Themselves This Year

For any of you who were alone today, or felt there could have been more, it's good to remember that Christmas is only one day of the year. It's fairly common to get caught up in all the excitement, which can be followed by a let down - even to those who had a house full of company today.

And no matter how good intentioned some familiar Christmas music may be, it can paint thoughts about the holiday that simply aren't true, like the one copied (in part) below. Note the words in red.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heartbe light
From now on
Our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yule-tide gay
From now on
Our troubles will be miles away

No, "from now on our troubles will won't be miles away," but we will sort them out and get through them, just as we always have. Best wishes for a good day tomorrow, whatever your plans. :)

There was Just Us ….the way we like it … ( we was invited to friends ) but I didn’t want to cook on a hot day so declined ….We get invited ~ every year but if we are going to vist we prefer to go after lunch

most of our family usually have to much to drink at Christmas and start running off at the mouth ( booze talk ) I choose to spend my time as far away as I can ~ from drinkers

No big day here. My wife and I alone. It is how we planned it.

Traveled in a taxi yesterday. The driver was a Muslim, and he talk\ed not of Christmas, but of Eid al-Fitr. His Mosque was once a local pub, very well known locally. Their day is in March. As such, Christmas wasn't a big deal for him. Fair enough. It's the modern world, and to be honest, it was never much of a pub either.

If you are alone, are you an atheist, or of another religion? If you are, then you are not really missing anything important, are you?
Like you say, it's like another day, except worse because businesses are closed. Doesn't matter to me because I never celebrate Xmas, but I like the decorations and original carols, for the melodies.
