I purchased to womens tops -while out buying Saturday ' so when I got home I tried them both on -
one irritated my side so when I looked there was 3 tags hanging on the garment 'omg I thought do we really need them' 3 of them
no we dont 'so I cut them off-then put on the other one same thing again this time they was longer and 3 again joined grrr '
I know we have them to say what the material is made of but 3 is plain stupid - told my friend of it and she had same problem
with her dress when she managed to get it off the garment the seam opened up so she took it back -bad in the UK. is it the same

I hate when I get home and find an Ink security tag, which you can't cut off...it's really annnoying...gotta trail back to the store with it...

There is a very sadistic person out there somewhere in the clothing industry whose only job is to design the absolutely worst location to put the absolutely most annoying tag.

The worst tags are the ones made with metallic threads. It's like having a little piece of sandpaper sawing away at the back of your neck or the side of your waist.

The sadist designs them to be sewn into the seam so you can't merely take a seam ripper and pull out the threads to detach the label. Noooooo……...if you do that, you'll end up opening the neck or side seam, too. So you have no choice but to clip the label as close to the seam as possible and then you'll have those annoying little short threads gnawing away at your skin.

Arrrrrgghhhhh. If I ever get my hands on that guy (and I'm pretty sure it's a guy), I'm going to ask a couple of you to hold him down while I rub a wire curry comb across the nape of his neck a couple hundred times. I'll feel much better then, thank you.

I've had the same thing happen. Had a secured tag that requires a special tool to remove, so back to the store! ..... so much for the "security"

How do you guys get out of the store with a security tag attached?

It used to be that tags and labels had nicely sewn hems. Now the edges are melted to prevent fraying. If they don't feel like a saw blade stuck in your clothes right away, just wait until they're washed the first time!

I feel that way, too, and if possible to cut off tags, I do that. But I have had regrets about that as well, because when I've come to really like a piece of clothing, I regret that I don't have the tag to remind me of what brand it is so that I can look for more of the same. Can't win really.

You are right on target here, except that if it is a "guy", he doesn't give men a break either. Some of those tags require lots of patience and a degree in mechanical engineering to remove. Some companies are much worse than others, and there are several that the wife and I avoid for this specific nuisance.

Yes, I've noticed that also. Tags on everything. Even socks have a tag that goes through 3 or 4 pair in a bundle. It is so tight I can hardly get a scissor between the sock and the tag to cut it off. Another problem is clothing in thrift stores. I finally find an item I like and they actually staple the tag onto the item. I know I shouldn't be picky in a thrift shop but why ruin perfectly good items with a staple.

Here in sunny Florida I wear t-shirts much of the time in warm weather (6 months of the year approx). When I buy a new one, I first try it on, then wash it and then cut the tag off.

I refuse to waste my time driving all the way back to the store to remove a security tag! Don't tell anyone, but I found that a flat head screwdriver works quite well!

It's been quite a while, but the shirt-dress that I had w/plastic security tag, was an expensive and delicate linen fabric. I would have ruined it with a screwdriver.

Happens lots... for some reason, even when the cashier hasn't removed the tag, the alrm doesn't go off at all... but yet oftentimes I can walk into a store and the alarm will go off, and I haven't even touched anything yet..!!

It's worse when you walk out of a store and the alarm goes off but you haven't touched anything. :giggle:

I don't know about security tags, but the tags in the back of clothes sure do annoy me I cut off tags these days as I find they make my back itch.
