Same to you... It's still cold here in Chicago... and I understand our friends on the East Coast can get up to 8 inches of snow.. This winter is hanging on for dear life.

Getting the spring fever here, Happy Spring everyone! :love_heart: Beautiful Florida picture Nd!

A very drizzly start to the first day of Spring up here in the north west of England but the afternoon has been absolutely beautiful. :)

Lovely to be able to say that Spring is here.

Friday March 20th. The First Day of Spring (Spring Equinox) 2015
Although I've always thought it was the 21st.

This is from the Farmers Almanac The March equinox happens at the same moment across the world but is converted to local time. In 2015, it falls on March 20 at 6:45 P.M. EDT, 5:45 P.M. CDT, 4:45 P.M. MDT, and 3:45 P.M. PDT, for example. So technically it does not begin until 6:45 PM

Since we haven't put our clocks ahead yet it's at 10:45 pm here.

Sorry, that ccp did not include the part about the First Day of Spring. To much info on the page to ccp, to include it. Perhaps this link is better...http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2...ipse/24970217/

Is the equinox always on March 20? No. It can come on March 19, 20 or 21. But the equinox will be on March 20 for the coming four decades.

For the remainder of the 21st century (2001-2100), the March equinox will fall on March 20 or 19. The next March 19 equinox will be in the year 2044.

The equinox won’t happen on March 21 until the year 2102. The March equinox last took place on March 21 in 2007.

The March equinox signals the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. It marks that special moment when the sun crosses the celestial equator going from south to north.

Though it would mean that it would be the 21st for you....it says the March equinox happens at the same moment acrosse the world...but, is converted to local time... So it means ????? That is too complicated for this old mind. Let me google it :) :) :)

Spring Equinox 2015: Crowds to descend on Stonehenge hoping for spectacular sunset over stones. Around a 100 druids and pagans are expected to descend on Stonehenge tomorrow (20 March) to mark the first day of spring and the date of the vernal equinox, as it is known in the northern hemisphere.1 day ago Guess it is the same there also...

No, it's still the 20th, just very late on the 20th.

89 degrees, a nice breeze, a good book and a glass of wine. Life is good. Snowing up north where I spend summers.
Hi Pappy, hope you have your sunscreen on like a good boy, and that glass of wine sounds nice;) Something about hot with no breeze but hot with a breeze I'm nuts about;) denise;)

Well, today we are having a high of 82...........nice, very nice! Originally, the forecast read that we'd have somewhat of a cold spell next week, but that has now been changed to one day with a temp about 5 degrees below normal. Even though right now I'm sitting in front of the computer with a sling on my left arm, I have our windows open and patio door open. Like McDonald's ad says........."I'm lovin' it!!"

I've been at Orange Beach, AL this week and the weather has been fantastic. Almost hot here today. No complaints though.
