Today Show host 84 year old mom is missing in Arizona-'concerning circumstances'

45 minutes was spent at the house looking for something valuable. Was any mention made of her bank cards to access an ATM. When he couldn’t find any money in the house, could she have walked out with a promise to get funds. She may have passed before they could get to the bank.

Mine, too. Second thought was that a glove could fit perfectly, but stretch out your fingers and you can make it look too small. Third thought was what's with these clumsy criminals dropping gloves?! 🤷‍♀️
If that's a latex work glove alot of brands come in different sizes just like clothes from a small to XL. Depends on where he bought them. They're not cheap for disposable gloves either. If the gloves weren't overly stretched or looked like a pretty good fit they've probably purchased and used them in the past.

This could be another indicator that a contractor with criminal ties saw an opportunity.

when an ex-FBI agent was interviewed, she said the plan was thought out but it was obvious not by professionals.

In other words a nitwit or several nitwits.

Yeah … how many could have been involved in this … it was one bumbling person who did the assault .. we know that

… BUT then the ransom notes were supposedly of good structure, proper English, and made by someone more intelligent.. and into Bitcoins.
How many general contractors and home maintenance laborers would be all that knowledgable about Bitcoins?

The person I see in the video is a woman trying to appear as a man. Look at the eyes and the lips. Judging on how they carry their handgun, especially women, the person fits the profile of a cartel soldier, which many are women. I think more than one involved and Nancy is dead accounting for the blood. She was probably carried out by at least two people. I think the family saying they want her back to celebrate, indicates they know she is dead. The places the authorities are searching, indicates to me they are fairly certain she was killed in the house and the body disposed of somewhere in the area.

I think all the crucial info is being withheld from the public. The list of persons it takes to keep that size of house clean and repaired, is long. I see a well kept house, small lawn, cared for desert, and very clean pool. I think they have lots of possibilities and the kidnap was just a smoke screen to allow the ones involved to leave the area.

Nancy's house was recently reroofed and that glove looks like the kind they use on flat roofs to apply hot tar. I would hope they have questioned all that roof crew.
I thought there was a mustache above the lip. I agree with your response #197. When the news first broke they said she needed that medication ASAP to keep her alive. Now after 11 days, they think she's still alive?! It doesn't make sense. I've been hoping they find her alive, but I'm beginning to doubt they will.

Other discrepancies I've noticed depending on what news we watch. Someone mentioned her son in law as a suspect. I never saw that mentioned on the news I watch (ABC). But they did mention searching her daughter's (wife of SIL) home. Someone else mentioned that at first it was reported as a homicide case. I never saw that on the news either, although I saw from day one that it was being investigated as a criminal case.

I also saw that her daughter told the kidnappers they'd pay the ransom without proof of life, which made no sense to me. Even the news correspondents and experts they have as consultants are saying this is a strange case. Also, I don't see the point of having cameras without the subscription. Surely she or her children could have afforded to keep that up for her. Someone also asked why didn't her children have her living with (one of) them. Maybe she preferred her own home and wanted to maintain her indepedence. But these days, people need to realize that even upscale, "safe" neighborhoods may no longer be safe.

Did Ms Guthrie have anything of value in the home a contractor could've noticed. Maybe someone snuck a peek in her jewelry box?

I still can't rule out a burglary or home invasion gone bad.

That mustache looks fake to me. Notice it is high off the lip and looks crooked. The lip shape looks more female to me. I think they move more female and are trying to look male, which accounts for the slow almost robotic movements. Pulling the plant and the way they bend to pull it, doesn't seem like a thing a male would do.

Also the loose heavy coat seems hide boobs and at times make the person look like they have a belly. It has been assumed that the person is wearing two ski hat mask, but I think the fuller appearance is long hair which is around the chin to give a beard appearance.

I hope the FBI hasn't ruled out the possibility of this person being female.

Also it seems strange to me that an 84 year old with heart issues, difficulty walking very far, was living alone in a huge house. No life alert, security cameras allowed to expire, and no one staying with her. The photo of her with a dog must be old, because no mention of a dog. This all seems very strange to me.

Also the law is tight lipped about if there was forced entry. At first, it was reported, no sign of forced entry. Did the intruder have a key? When she was dropped off, she went inside thru the garage. Lots of things don't add up in my way of thinking.

Obviously this is an agonizing event for Mrs. Guthrie's family. The 24 hour news outlets employ retired professional from various disciplines that feed the public fascination with this case with endless conjecture. I can't imagine how the family is enduring this period trying to maintain hope. An end to the ordeal as terrible as it may be would be some closure for her family, but an unsolved case would be the ultimate agony.

He looked like he might be drunk, the way he was moving.

It was dark which could have something to do with it.

There were about 4,000 tips recieived in the 24 hour period after the video was released. Quite a lot to sift through. I wonder if there is a way to search them for multiple mention of the same name.

Interesting that report comes out this morning that the sheriff is withholding some early collected evidence from the FBI.

Does this mean that the early investigations of the sister and husband revealed something they don't want made public?

FBI experts agree that the person in video is 5' 10", and was wearing a size 9 shoe. It is a size 9 women's medium in my opinion. Hard to tell the weight or body shape because of bulky clothes. The eye shape, the way the brows are shaped, and lips shape, should make this easy for the FBI to ID. All they need to do is compare with everyone that has been on the property in the last 90 days before disappearance and also the entire family including in laws, and they will have the person in the video.

The handgun and the way it is carried, appears to be a prop to me and something to mislead investigators.
Just one black glove haphazardly tossed by the roadside. Suspicious! Drops of blood that forensics say didn't come from a wound such as stabbing or gunshot. The size of the drops indicated they dropped at 90 degrees and most likely intentional, maybe from a dropper. Interesting the front porch was the only place they found blood.

Maybe Nancy is alive and they know where she is and is using this to dominate the news to cover for something else. Something very bizarre that certainly doesn't deserve all the national news it is getting.

Another Jessie Smollett style cry for attention?

Early this morning, I heard a report about a man trying to get over a wall into what was described as Mrs Guthries' property. It may be the side or rear of the property, there are parked cars and bins alongside the wall.

As it seems to not have been mentioned on here, I did a quick Google search and it came up on this Facebook page. I am not on Facebook so the page must be public and set so anyone can watch.

His head is pixelated in the clip, the report described him as bald. The report also said he was wearing jeans which I don't think the other intruder was? Also, this guy is carrying two bags.

Does that galvanised panel look like a gate of some kind? The report said he was trying to 'scale' over the wall but, it looks like he was looking for some way of opening that panel before giving up and walking away? That area looks like it might be more overlooked than the porch which may be why he did not wear a disguise or try to climb over the wall, because, there was always the possibility that a car might have pulled in and seen him?

Has anyone else seen this?

Apparently the sheriff wants to use a private lab to process DNA.

Also heard the sheriff was the subject of an FBI investigation about 10 years ago. He wasn't indicted but was part of an investigation and has held a grudge since.

I saw that post. I don’t recall it was at the Gutherie home. It appeared to just be a similar looking person doing something suspicious. He hoisted a bag over temporarily and then left with one - was it a drug exchange?

The report said it was footage of a man attempting to scale the wall at the rear of Mrs Gutheries' property. I was surprised that the new footage wasn't in the papers this morning so, I think you are right. (y)
