Today's Stupidity in Driving.

In today's society, driving has become more of a race to get to where you're going ASAP. Taking chances and speeding has almost become like a sport to see if you can beat your time. I have seen many drivers drive while doing things that to me were very dangerous. Shaving with an electric razor, putting on makeup, reading a paper or magazine, talking and texting on cellphones, etc.

My best advice is what we have heard for years, "Always drive defensively." Be prepared for anything and pay attention to the driver in front of you and the driver approaching you in the passing lane. When approaching a traffic light, when the light turns yellow, that signifies it may be red within the next 3 seconds. It does not mean to stomp on the accelerator to get through it. Vehicles are not the only issue we need to be aware of. We should also be alert to pedestrians. We have no idea what their thinking is. Are they going to wait until we pass, or are they going to attempt to dart across the street in front of us? This would apply to the younger crowd.

And above all, exercise patience.

Hope you gave them a ticket for Distracted Driving.

Yes.
Giving out citations weren't a thing with me, unless they committed an unsafe act or my Sgt. told me to give a citation at a certain speed that he would set. If I set up radar in a 70, most likely, we would arrest at 85 and above.
