Tony-nominated Broadway star Nick Cordero dies at 41 after protracted battle with COVID-19

Tony-nominated Broadway star Nick Cordero, known for his work in Bullets Over Broadway, Rock of Ages, Waitress, and A Bronx Tale as well as television’s Blue Bloods, has died, more than 90 days after contracting the coronavirus. His wife, fitness trainer and dancer Amanda Kloots, tearfully announced the news on her Instagram, where she had been keeping fans updated on Cordero’s harrowing COVID-19 battle since he entered Los Angeles’s Cedars-Sinal hospital in March. Cordero was 41 and had a 1-year-old son, Elvis.

The family has a right to keep some details private. But this quote from the article obviously means something:
"An infection triggered a potential deadly sequence of events."

"An infection?" What infection? A hospital-acquired infection such as MRSA that is often the result of doctors & medical personnel not washing hands between patients? MRSA often results in amputation of a limb to save a life; that's what Mr. Cordero had.
He was also tested for Covid 19 more than once; with both negative and positive results.

This whole saga has been very sad. Sorry Nick and his son will never know each other. Very depressing.

"An infection?" What infection?

He had multiple infections which sadly is not uncommon with COVID-19 patients who become critically ill, especially those on ventilators. Bacterial pneumonia, fungal infections and sepsis often occur, despite best practices on the part of hospitals and caregivers. He was at an excellent facility.

Thank you for clearing this up.

What a long, terrible ordeal for Nick and his family. May he RIP.

If his infection was Covid-19, it would have said Covid-19; not "An Infection."
