Too thin ice maybe?

Just got this picture from our lake we stay at up north during the summer.
Every year there is either a truck or snowmobile that goes through the ice, but they keep on coming.

Why do people do that?
Over here, we have had at least two people going into flooded rivers to save their dogs. The dogs survive, the people drown.
