Took a fall yesterday...in my living room

@Marie5656 , Oh my gosh, you really banged yourself up good. I'm glad you were able to get your phone and dial up 911. My wife took a fall 2 weeks ago, gashed her head where her eyeglass frames got her, plus bruised a knee. I bought her a smart watch that she can use to call me, her daughter or 911 in case she takes another fall when I'm not here. I'm buying a couple of items she can use to get up off the floor with:

For the future: Working to strengthen her body so that she can get up from the floor.
I bought a smart watch several years ago since I live alone and still do things like work my tractor and use a chainsaw. Depending on the one you got her they can also call 911 automatically. I've not regretted the expense.

I refused trip to ER as I did not feel it was needed (cue stubborn old lady) . Nothing broken, EMT cleaned it up, and no heavy bleeding or sign of anything broken.
I have been sleeping in my recliner a lot lately as more comfortable for me and arthritis. My recliner is one of those motorized ones...auto recline and push of remote attached to chair.
You're VERY lucky not to have broken bone in your forehead. Normally, a kind of the fall you did has some facial broken bone.
We are all old and easy to lose balance which causing 'fall.' that exactly happened to me and got fracture of my heel bone of my right foot. Unable to walk, my adult son stayed with me to help me out.
But not like mine(pretty serious), your injuries just take time to heel and get back to normal, daily life.
We all have to be careful and remind, 'We are all easy to fall because of less flexibility and loss of good balance' which we all had in our younger age, but NO MORE.'
Keep update!!!

@Amanda76 I almost did not post about my fall. But then I realized it served as a reminder to us to always stay safe. Especially and of you who, like me, have balance issues or use a mobility aid like a walker or cane. If you see my profile pic, you see my walker right next to me.
That being said, My walker is what tripped me up. I had stopped it, and turned toward my bookshelf...tripped on one of the wheels and tumbled.

I purchased 'Leg Scooter' to walk around the house and backyard.
My Bill, ER and Orth'Doc pays full, but Medical Devices, 'Leg Scooter,' 'Life Me Up from couch and bed,' other convenience devices falls on me. Luckily, I have a lot of clothes purchased in my younger age, so I don't need to buy any. But, this incident, 'Fall on Foot' cost me quite a bit.
Either way, the money goes to one way and the other. Luckily, my late husband left me the money I need for my old age.
