Emotional statements from their children, some recalling years of abuse and imprisonment, were read in court Friday before a Riverside County couple was sentenced to life in prison for child-torture and other crimes.
David and Louise Turpin pleaded guilty in Riverside County Superior Court in February to torture and other abuse and neglect so severe it stunted their children's growth, led to muscle wasting and left two girls unable to bear children. Some of the 13 children living in the Perris home were shackled to beds.

"My parents took my whole life from me, but now I'm taking my life back," said a 30-year-old daughter, one of two adult children who spoke Friday morning in court before the sentence, life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

Those parents were monsters, thank goodness the kids were able to get away from them, life in prison is less than they deserve, IMO.

Our justice system is beyond pathetic. Before you say, "Yaaaa, Justice," remember what a 25-year sentence (or a life sentence) means.

Their sentence is automatically cut in half if they behave themselves in prison. And every day they do some work, like washing dishes, mopping, etc. is another day off their sentence.

Since they are close to the category of "Aging Inmates," they will certainly be released early to save aging inmate medical costs. (That's why the Manson Murderers, like Leslie Van Houten are being paroled.)

And, remember O.J. Simpson's 33 year sentence for armed robbery & kidnapping (after he got away with two murders)? He was released after 9 years. Quite typical.

John Hinckley is free after destroying several lives forever. He couldn't be charged with murder, even though James Brady's injury led to his death.

Their attorneys will be constantly working to get these dirtbags a new trial on some legal grounds & they'll probably succeed.

I’m australia I believe the hardest of prisoners throughly dislike people who abuse children in any way ......just maybe they will get some of their own medicine in prison

Not likely. They'll be housed & protected where other inmates can't get to them. They'll probably be safer than we are.

This is certainly a case in were the death penalty should be used. Instead they will get health care ,free food ,protection etc. Gee I hope they get access to a computer,tv and cell phone !:mad:[SUB][SUP]

This sort of stuff makes me sick to my stomach that I can't even follow it that much. I know how much I love my 3 kids, I just can't even imagine how these monsters could even think of doing these things to these kids. I hope that somehow justice is filled to the max here.

There was a very well known ( in Australia ) gangland killer in a Melbourne prison who was housed with only two other criminals in a secure area due to his criminal activities, one of the other prisoners that had nothing to loose was able
to sneak up, behind Carl and bash him to death with a part he’d been able to remove from a exercise bike
So just maybe there’s humans if you can call them that will get their day ,I didn’t hear the full story were the children sexually abused as well ?

Inmates that torture children have a funny way of dying in prison long before their sentences are concluded. Could be the water.
