Since the tummy tuck surgery 6 weeks ago I continue to deal with and discomfort. The incision from hip to hip got infected, and treated Clindamycin 300 mg 3 x daily, loaded with side-effects. The incision is inflamed and very sensitive to the touch.

After a while all this stuff wears me down, back pain from sitting and riding in the car. Travel is limited. I see a spinal specialist March 6 for spine injections. Everything hurts and I can't project beyond the pain I feel so hope is hard.

It sounds like you are dealing with a lot, no wonder it wears you down. Hopefully the infection will clear up fast so that you are more comfortable getting the spinal injection, and that will help with the back pain. Will they even do that if you have an infection? I've had pain although nothing like what you are going through. Rest is probably the most important thing for you right now . Keep an eye on the infection and if something does not feel right get yourself to the hospital.

Clothing irritates where the incision is. Gets inflame garnet red and it stings. Started wearing an open bathrobe to avoid the skin from being touched.

Can you tell if the clindamycin is working? You should be able to note some difference within 48 hours. If there is not and you feel lousy you should be seen and re-evaluated. Hope you feel better soon. Do you have someone at home with you??

Tomorrow I see a spine surgeon who hopefully will inject pain medicine into my spine. This will allow me to drive and ride in a car. before the spine specialist appointment I have PT.
a long way to go before strength returns.

You will heal, Ed. Believe that because it's true.

Meanwhile, wear gowns at home. I did while I was on the mend after abdominal surgery. And I wore loose-fitting overalls with a long t-shirt underneath when I had to be outside.
