Toyota's Solid State Battery

I don't even know if it is true, it was the figures
that they put out, that were interesting!

But the boss at Toyota, says, No More EVs, we
will not build any more, or design any for the
future, this makes the design of a good battery,
seem silly.

There is just too much BS in the news of new tech in the automotive industry. They talk it up, but in the real world, a lot of it falls flat on its face. I pull a trailer every now and then. I need my V8 gas hog.

I'll probably be long gone by the time there are charging stations around here. Will there be long lines of cars waiting their turn? Will you have to make an appointment? How much will a charge cost you? Too many questions and possibly worries. I'll be using gasoline until I can't drive anymore.

I have gathered information about Toyota's progress in developing solid-state battery technology from various sources such as reuters.com, ft.com, global.toyota/en/newsroom/, pcmag.com, caranddriver.com and electrek.co. These sources indicate that there are ongoing collaborations between Toyota and other companies aimed at mass production of this ground-breaking technology in the coming years. The innovations include announcements of partnerships for supply chain establishment, demonstration facilities employed to work on better sulfide solid electrolytes before full-scale mass production commences around 2027-28. Furthermore, these developments may play a pivotal role in promoting global carbon neutrality through creating advanced technologies in Japan.

Road and Track 1/16/2024 - "The reassignment of Akio Toyoda, whose vocal skepticism of BEVs could explain the company’s lackluster all-electric offerings, was seen as a sign of a major corporate shift.

Following Sato’s ascension, several pronouncements girded that narrative, including renewed commitment to electrification, with 10 new EVs to launch by 2026."
