I have a 70 year old teddy bear from my childhood and he is still golden and beautiful :) . Do you have any of your toys?

"No, but I wish I had my 75 year old comic books back. Some would be worth big money. "

When I was a little girl my cousin, Freddie, had a whole room full of comic books! He must have had at least 4 book shelves stacked top to bottom with comic books! We weren't allowed to touch them or read them. All we could do was stand there and look at them. That was in the 50's. He was my age but we lost touch. Now you got me wondering if he still has them.

This is a fun thread.

Pick Up StiX. One of my favorite games. We had wood ones at one time, too. Wood was harder because the sticks were usually warped.;) My mom & dad and I played this a lot.

Tabitha, he was very protective of his comic books. Look but don't touch. They were all in a specific place. Maybe even in alphabetical order. We were only allowed to go in the comic book room when he was home and he'd stand in there the whole time we were there. In his defense I have to say he did have other comics laying around the house that we could read while we were visiting my Aunt and Uncle. I guess his stash was more of a precious collection rather than a bookshelf of comic books. I'm telling you. Those shelves were floor to ceiling. Like a comic book museum.

Pick up sticks! Yes! Love them. I remember the wood ones. Eventually the dye would come off, remember? It amazes me how much fun we really did have with something like this. Holding your breath trying not to move them. lol. Hey, we took our games very serious back then. Oh, the disappointment when that last stick moved just a little bit. Or, did it? lol.

Pattypan is Freddie older than you? His comic collection must have been huge.

Ah yes the recollection of playing sticks is a good one.

Hi Tabitha, we were the same age. That was back in the 50's. Of course I was a child then so maybe it looked bigger than it really was. lol. All I remember is standing there looking up at a wall to wall bookcase full of comic books the same way I'd look up at the wall to wall bookcases in the library. You know what's also strange? All this talk about those comic books I can almost smell them now. They did have a distinct 'comic book' smell. lol.

Freddie also had pet frogs. He loved frogs. My uncle built him a special frog pond in the yard. His nick name was Freddie Frog or Froggie. lol. This board truly does bring back fond memories. I'm lovin' it!
