Toys you played with as a kid

I really liked Silly Putty too. Putting it on the cartoons section of the newspaper, I recall.

Had plenty of toys like hot wheels, legos, and such, but I also liked to create my own toys. I made my own rockets from household materials and also made assortments of paper and balsa planes and gliders. Also, I would modify existing toys. I hooked up my train transformer to my hot wheels super charger - the cars shot out real fast!

My husband swears he invented the skateboard. They fashioned boards on to wheels and rode them.

When I was a pup I was a rootin', tootin', shootin' cowboy and loved my Mattel Fanner 50 and can still remember the smell of the fired caps.

That rug looks so familiar. I used it as a race track also.

Now it sits under a slightly larger hot rod.

In my day all we had was Modeling Clay. Fun to play with and it lasted for ever...

A Quija board nor a deck of playing cards were allowed, religious reasons and a conspiracy nut for a mom were the blockades. My father was a mason contractor, I had a large round metal container full of smaller interlocking plastic bricks that let my imagination run wild. Later after I had destroyed the green folding roofs I used cereal box sides folded & shaped for roofs.

Back when I wanted to be an astronaut I used big cardboard boxes as my spaceship. Coolest spaceship ever
