Transistor radios ?

It's been sitting in the desk drawer for many years but I purchased a radio just like the one pictured back in 80' or 81' and yesterday just for giggles I put a fresh 9 volt battery in it and found out that it still works great.

It seems like I don't see them around much anymore, anybody still have a older working transistor radio that they still use once in awhile ?

I had a couple of them and thought they were great. Carried one of them whenever I went out.

Now they're streamlined and equipped with ear buds. Almost every teen I see is plugged into one.

My dad had a multiband radio back in the 70s or 80s. Had some FM/AM channels. But also got scanner, weather radio and sometimes he could get in CB and Ham radio signals...but only incoming. I looked around for it after he passed away, but he must have either thrown it out or gave it away.
