Trash service not picking up for two weeks

I received a recorded message yesterday from the local trash service that removes garbage on Wednesdays here. It said that due to the two consecutive Wednesday holidays, the trash will not be picked up until January 8th. This in not a problem for me since I usually have very little wet garbage, but some people with many people living in a household will have quite a lot. I think a lot of bins will be overflowing by January 8th. I bet we will be charged the regular fee though, and not given credit for the two missed weeks.
