Truck Driving Has Long Been A Man's World. Meet The Women Changing That.

It's true that lorry driving is fairly male dominated in the UK, but public transport is a different matter. I notice an increasing number of young ladies driving busses and trains.

A small digression.. I've never figured out why train drivers get paid a lot more than bus drivers. After all, the train runs on rails and doesn't need steering.

I have to wonder how they handle unloading a large 18 wheeler. Driving is the easy part.
Depends on the cargo. Quite a lot is on pallets so backing into a loading dock & having a fork lift unload ain't bad.

Driving down the interstate isn't to bad from spring until fall. Sure there are idiots that cut back in way to soon. City driving more complex. But it's trying to back into a loading dock from the blind side with a 45ft. box that takes skill. If Serro Scotty trailer manufacturer is still in Irwin PA. they have the most difficult delivery access I've ever delivered to. Not only back in on the blind side but getting the box between the weather sealers that have only 1 foot of space on each side.
