Just getting elected and facing questions on Canada's approach after the Paris attacks he said he was reviewing the matter and was increasing the number of trainers. This was not too reassuring as he obviously is trying to duck combat for Canadians...

Hmmm. In the past two world wars Canadians proved their valour. With respect, we entered the fray long before America did. I am not criticising the Americans, they had their reasons. If Canada chooses a path other than combat as our contribution to the war on terror, rest assured it will be for reasons other than "ducking combat."

And what reasons would those be?

Actually, from what I've heard, that is a load of 'spin' you're spouting there Ralph. He wants to take our six jets out of the action and replace them with a sizeable number of military on the ground and currently the 69 trainers who are there are actually pretty close to the front lines which is infinitely more dangerous than hanging out in an airplane at 30,000 feet. So trying to duck combat? I don't think so, just trying to be more effective by doing what we do better.

Consider it like this, training the locals (like they helped train the Kurds!!!) to fight for themselves instead of just doing it for them. Remember that teaching a man to fish is better than catching a fish for him.
