True or False...

True - once. Ballet class. Mom wanted me to be another Shirley Temple. I complained so much, my mom didn't want to argue and so I stopped going. Back then, parents tried to mold children into gender types. I was given dolls and a tea set to play with when what I really wanted was a chemistry set.
Even in high school (late 1960s) I wanted to take mechanical drawing. The school said that was for boys and I should take home ec. By then, my parents were more understanding and went to bat for me and when the dust settled, I was allowed (grudgingly by the school) to take MD which I enjoyed and got an A, even if I was the only girl in the class and took some ribbing from the fellows.

You've been cross country skiing.
