Witch Hazel
Alcohol-free with Aloe Vera. I buy a mixture as "Thayer's Facial Toner - Unscented."

Makes an excellent aftershave for wet or dry shaving.

Witch hazel is an astringent. People commonly use it topically, meaning they apply it directly to the skin. Witch hazel may help treat the following conditions:

Hemorrhoids
Acne
Rashes (reduces inflammation)
Varicose veins, Dandruff
Bug bites or stings
Sunburn
Stretch marks
Bleeding (astringent)

Witch hazel is safe for most people to use as an at-home treatment for some common skin issues.

Some people may have an allergic reaction to witch hazel, so it is best to test it first on a small patch of skin and monitor it for 24 hours. If there is no redness, itching, or irritation, it should be safe to apply to a larger area.

Thayer's Facial Toner with Aloe Vera makes a great alcohol-free aftershave.
Witch hazel can help with skin issues like acne, rashes and bug bites. Always patch test first!

Natural Herbals in moderation good for you. These plants grow in the wild and are edible.
Drug company stuff, well they warn you of all the stuff its most certainly gonna kill and tell
you to blame your Dr. Throw your money away to drug Co. B.S. or you can break off and chew a stem
berry, leaf of a plant instead. It's your $1000's of dollars so you do as you wish.

Foot bath:

Pulverize 1/2 cup of rolled oats or oatmeal using a small electric coffee grinder. Add this with about 1/2 cup of Epsom salts, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and a little liquid soap (body wash) into a soaking basin with enough warm (not too hot) water to cover your feet. Soak 30 to 60 minutes, then air dry without rinsing.

Optionally add a little tea tree or eucalyptus oil.

The pulverized oatmeal is also good in a full body bath.

Thayer's Unscented Facial Toner is great for aftershave! Witch hazel helps with many skin issues like acne, sunburn and bug bites.
Always do a patch test first to avoid any allergic reactions.

Staying hydrated.

As I've aged I've come across more friends and acquaintances who complain of chronic headaches, dizziness, and/or fatigue. If I ask about their fluid intake it often becomes clear they're not getting nearly enough.

As a rule of thumb for older folks, divide your weight (in pounds) by 3. That is an approximation of the minimum number of ounces of fluid you should be drinking per day. Fluid intake should be spread out over the course of the day.

My wife's father didn't have a lot of education growing up.

A neighbour of his was dying of late-stage cancer...so he brought over to his house "The Doctor's Book of Home Remedies". It was a sincere sentiment, but awfully cringeworthy!

I drink an extra glass of water with a little squash several times a day, whether thirsty or not. In fact I rarely actually feel thirsty so it would be easy to forget. At night I take a bottle of water up, I sip whenever I wake. It definitely makes a difference to me as I rarely get headaches now whereas I used to.
