I mowed for several years with an electric mower (greenworks brand) and I don't remember any problem with the batteries. I did have a couple extra batteries because it was too frustrating for the battery to run out before the mowing was finished. I'm not sure I remember the unboxing, but probably I only had to unfold the handle, or maybe screw part of the handle on, unless I'm thinking of the walk-behind weed trimmer I bought.
