..and it won't let me register. It keeps telling me that my password or email address /phone number is wrong... it's not wrong.... I even changed my password, it accepted the new password but when I put it into the new registration it said it was wrong...

Without registering I have no access to any search engine or forums etc, so I do have to register it..... anyone any idea what I can do next ?

Did Amazon send you a one time code via email or text ? Maybe you missed that part ? That is the only thing I can think of.

When I ordered my last kindle, amazon asked me if I wanted it connected to my amazon account, so it came ready to be connected to that. I have an extensive library and wanted to share it with my son in Washington state, so I bought a small kindle fire with my account and had it shipped to his address. All they had to do was use my account information to sign in and all of my library books , pictures, and everything was right there.

Look on your amazon account from your Mac and see what devices it shows. You might be able to get the new one registered with that. I will look. I looked. It shows my one kindle, and the apps, but that is all, no way that I can see to register one.

Maybe erase it and start over. I would still recommend calling your customer service number for amazon. If you just changed your amazon password, make sure that it is working on your amazon account first, and then try to set up the new max fire.

yes I did make sure that the new password worked on Amazon first.. but then the Max fire wouldn't accept it... It's frustrating because it says your password or email address/phone number is incorrect, well of course the email and phone number ARE correct.. so the problem has to be with the password, yet .. it just won't accept it..neither the old or the new. I checked on my devices, Yvonne, and it's not showing on there...

I've had password issues even on non related tablet issues in the past with Amazon. I hope they are able to solve the issue quickly. I enjoy using my Fire 10 tablet.

Well it says on Amazon if you have a problem registering then turn the wifi/router off and restart,...I did this and it's still not accepting..

Then, it seems like it is time to call customer support and ask them to help you with this, Holly. I do not know what else to try at this point or why the password does not work. If you have a complicated amazon password, you might try just changing it to something really simple, and then you can always change it again if you want to after the device is registered.

I called them, and there seems to be a problem with this one , they tried activating it and they said it had been de-registered... so they're sending me another one ...

They should be able to send it already linked to your account, and then all you have to do is connect to WiFi and sign in to your amazon account. It will show up in your amazon device list then, too.

i still think you should have chosen one of the new iPad Air devices. They are totally awesome, come in both the 11” and 13”, and pretty colors , and use the apple keyboard and new Apple Pencil. If I were getting a new device, I would want the 13” iPad Air.

I can't afford a new Ipad currently...

I never have been a huge tablet user. I prefer my phone or my PCs . I do see the appeal of them, especially the IPads, but just never liked the form factor. But the Fire works for me for specific situations. I am an Android user so I sideloaded Android onto my Fire tablet and that comes in handy at times.

Enjoy your Fire when you do get it :)

yes I've had ipads for years... and only ever used them when I was travelling, and since I had to renew the ipad, I felt that the Max fire was the much more affordable option. I've had it a while now.. and just went to register it today.. so maybe the deactivation was because it wasn't registered when I first bought it, I don't know.. but anyway.. again like the Ipads before it..it will only be used for travel...
