Turned on the furnace yet ?

I don't like feeling chilly. Yes, turned it on one evening. The weather turned warm the next day. It's been off for a while. Hope we get a little bit of an "Indian Summer."

With all the political correctness nowadays, they have probably outlawed "Indian" summer.

It's been reading 65-68 degrees in our house in the mornings, so we do put on the heat for a short time to take the chill off.

Nope; still running the a/c in Houston. (Though it is a bit cooler outside it's still just as humid.)

You got that right. Still summer here in Houston!

The landlord controls the live steam heating system in the apartment complex where I live.

The law in this area says that the heating season starts September 15 if the inside temperature falls below 68F.

Most of us dread the start of the heating season and encourage the landlord to delay firing up the boilers because we always get a couple of warm spells that make the stifling heat in our apartments unbearable.

I enjoy a few weeks of brisk temps where you need to wear a sweatshirt and cover up with a comforter while watching television.

I suppose that I should start getting ready by moving the plants and some furniture away from the radiators for the winter.

One day the AC is on, the next the furnace is on, the next nothing is running ~ that's September for ya' where I live....
my space heater is on more in my bedroom these days tho....

No furnace yet -- I'm still using my swamp cooler!

Not yet but have started the wood stove a couple of times.

Not yet, still using the swamp cooler in the afternoons. That could change this weekend, we have a chance of finally getting our first rain shower.
