Twins!

The more twins there are in a family, the more likely twins are to continue occurring. That old saw about twins skipping a generation is nonsense. My daughter was terrified at her greater likelihood of having twins and was greatly relieved when both pregnancies were singletons.

As we've seen on this thread, twins are rightfully considered a high risk pregnancy. Even nowadays both members of a set of twins don't always survive the pregnancy or first few days of life. Premature delivery is the rule rather than the exception, as are low birth weights. I was fortunate twice. My twin sister and I were full term, healthy, and both over 7 lbs. My sons were also full term, birth weights of 6 lbs 3 oz and 5 lbs 8 oz. No complications or NICU time, ******l births, healthy babies.

Trust me, I know how lucky I am.
