Two Long Time Police Officers Killed in Potential Domestic Violence Incident

Two long term police officers, one for 17 year and one for 30 years, were shot down as soon as they entered the residence on Saturday. They answered to a potential domestic violence call that ended in a hang up.

The shooter was shot and wounded but alive and in hospital custody.

So sorry to hear about this. Westerville is (or at least was) a nice middle class suburb of Columbus, but domestic violence is a problem in all communities.

Being a police officer has to be one of the most dangerous...and thankless....jobs in the nation. They never know what they will face, even in a simple traffic stop. Every year, well over 100 police are killed. In many cases, they are confronted by those with a history of violence, and have to make a split second decision to save their own lives.

This was an ambush straight up. The suspect probably resented the authorities after his wife tried to get a restraining order. These officer bore the brunt of his anger.

At least this is one abuser who won't get a slap on the wrist in court.

Interesting to see what our police officer poster 911 has to say about this , I'm sure he's been to more domestic disturbances than he's had hot dinners..and police officers never know what they're going to encounter behind a closed door..
