Two visitors this morning

Bernie and Wesley, the neighborhood cats, stopped by to wish me a happy first year anniversary in the new house. I haven't seen Stanley in quite some time, though.

I hope someone took Stanley in and is giving him his best life. (I'm assuming Stanley is a kitty)

Yes, he's the skinny gray one. My neighbor that feeds them said he doesn't let them inside his house, but he's fixed up a place for them inside his utility shed.

I haven't seen Stanley or Bernie in months. I did see Wesley sitting in a neighbors yard last week, but to my knowledge, didn't come on my property.

I case you forgot - I used to have 3 neighborhood cats stop by now and then.

Deb, given that we all nagged you to death to move, and then followed your progress... how have you found this last year living in a completely different type of house..albeit in pretty much the same area, how has it been for you?.. how are your neighbours?

Sometimes it's so quiet, it's creepy. The houses are much further away from each other here. No all night parties like at the last house where they got the brazier going too close to the houses. There was a pool party down the road last summer, but far enough away that it didn't bother me.

I saw Bernie the other day, so two are accounted for. Still haven't seen Stanley in quite some time.

I haven't seen ANY cats in quiet some time. No paw prints in the snow, either. Neighbor isn't leaving food and water dishes out like he used to. I don't know what's going on.

I had not seen a cat for abt 4 weeks, till late last eve a dark
cat with shiny collar went down the drive to the street and
turned left....don't know who it belongs to....

I still haven't seen any of the neighborhood cats in weeks. I was going to ask the neighbor about them if I saw him out when I pass his house, but I haven't seen him either and his car is gone from where he usually parks it. I can only hope if he went on a vacation, he boarded the cats someplace.

Update on neighborhood cats - I saw my neighbor out yesterday as I was driving by, so I stopped and inquired about the cats. He said he keeping them confined since they all have developed health problem and need regular medication. If he lets them wander around, they may not be nearby when they need their medicine. He also said that he built sort of a chicken run in back of his garage for them. So they are still around, just not free range anymore.

After the death of our cat Lilou five years ago we had no other cats. It would be too painful. But the more I like if one of the neighbor cats comes to a visit. One neighbor vis-à-vis has a young black cat 'Amigo' from a shelter. He comes every day to visit us and sometimes jumps through our open windows into the house. Even if he is outside on the street in front of our house and I call him by his name he answers with a 'meow' and moves on if he has other plans.
